I want to welcome you to my blog. As a former newspaper editor, I wrote a weekly column through which I expressed my fondest musings and my loudest groanings all to do with the state of being an American woman in the time-slot I drew.
This blog is dedicated to the memory of Ralph. A small, black Spaniel mix, who through winter's cold, fleas, and even at times hunger, kept a faithful watch over my childhood. There are no words or deeds left to repay a loyalty so deep or a love so strong. If this blog can cause just one person to treasure their dog just a little more, perhaps it can make up even a tiny bit for all he deserved.
